Eric Idle wiki & biography:

What is Eric Idle’s net worth? Born in South Shields, County Durham, England, Eric Idle grew up in a brutal boarding school environment and used his wits and comic abilities to handle the day-to-day struggles. While attending Cambridge University, Eric was encouraged to the join the esteemed improv group, the Cambridge University Footlights. Eric later became their president. After college, Eric appeared on the children’s television show, “Do Not Adjust Your Set”. In the early 80s, he started working in the job that would put him on the map, as among the members of “Monty Python”. His sketches, which he wrote by himself, regularly included plays on words and coped with current issues and individuals. He also composed several of the group’s most famous songs, including “Look on the Bright Side of Life” and “Eric the Half-a-Bee”. Post-“Monty Python”, he has written several books, appeared in numerous television shows and movies, toured as a solo artist, and wrote the book, lyrics, and a number of the music for the hit Broadway musical, “Spamalot”, which won three Tony Awards.
Eric Idle (born 29 March 1943) is an English comedian, actor, author, singer, writer and comedic composer. Stagnate was an associate of the English surreal comedy group Monty Python, a part of the Rutles on “Saturday Night Live”, and the author of the Broadway musical “Spamalot”.

Idle composed for Python mostly by himself, at his own tempo, although he sometimes found it difficult in having to present material to the others and make it seem amusing with no back-up support of a partner. Idle himself declared this was occasionally difficult: “You had to convince five others. And they were not the most un-egotistical of writers, either.” Idle’s work in Python is frequently characterised by an obsession with language and communication: many of his characters have verbal peculiarities, for example the man who speaks in anagrams, the guy who says words in the wrong sequence, and the butcher who switches between rudeness and politeness every time he speaks. Numerous his sketches include extended monologues (for example the customer in the “Travel Agency” sketch who will not stop talking about his unpleasant encounters with vacations), and he would often spoof the affected language and speech patterns of television presenters. Unlike Palin, Idle is said to function as the master of insincere characters, from the David Frost-esque Timmy Williams, to small time crook Stig O’Tracy, who attempts to deny the fact that organised crime master Dinsdale Piranha nailed his head to the ground.
