Koenigsegg Net Worth
Koenigsegg even after 20 years still has a small team of just 50 members and fabricates a simple 10 sports car per year.
Christian inspired by a Norwegian animated film Pinchcliffe Grand Prix, by which a local bike repairman makes his own racing car. Christian’s conviction enabled him to turn his dream into a reality when he was just 22 years old, against all the odds. Merely 2 years after the beginning, Koenigsegg team assembled their first prototype, but its first ever car was handed to its owner in 2002 nearly after a decade. Koenigsegg began as a fantasy for one man but it’s now a dream car for many racers all around the world because of its state of art design and technology. Early financing for the business came from his affluent family and the loan from Swedish government helped it’s cause. Initially company lacked infrastructure but got helping hand from Volvo which offered wind tunnel and testing facilities while Saab helped in tuning the engine for Koenigsegg.
Christian Von Koenigsegg began as a car cleaner(summer job) and was famous for tuning mopeds in his locality. He believed that one day memory chips will be saving data and began patent research but due to lack of interest he dropped out. Similarly in his teens he devised a new technique for joining boards together without adhesives or nails but his father in law and other flooring manufacturing companies rejected this notion but a few years later same technique was patented by another company and is now a billion dollar industry. Despite the fact that many of his preceding innovations failed he wasn’t disheartened and now holds patents for some of the leading automotive technologies such as Rocket Catalytic Converter, Triplex Suspension, Supercharger Reaction/Relief System and free valve technology.
As of 2014 a total of only 10 distinct models have already been released by Koenigsegg and manufacturing just a few hundred models because every model is hand-built and are labor intensive. No doubt each auto of Koenigsegg costs a fortune so let’s have a jog at their prices.
