Michael Richards is an American actor, comic, television producer and writer. He’s best known for his character as Cosmo Kramer in a popular television sitcom Seinfeld, for which three times he received Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series.

He was born in Culver City, California to Phyllis and William Richards. His father was an electrical engineer and his mother was a medical records librarian .His father died when he was only two years old .His mother never recovered back after this heartbreaking loss and never wed again. His Father served in the US army for two years during Vietnam War and was stationed in West Germany as a co- director of V Corps Training Road Show. His Father received a BA degree in drama from The Evergreen State College .After his graduation he got himself enrolled into California Institute of the Arts .He farther continued his studies from Valley College in La. Richards is thankful to his teachers who inculcated love for arts in him.

He appeared on Billy Crystal’s first cable TV show in 1979 which was a huge break for him. He was a cast member on ABC’s Fridays TV show. In 80’s, he appeared in many films including comedy UHF, Miami Vice and Cheers. As a result of his great work, he was offered a role in ABC’s TV Series monk but he turned it down. The show which received a lot of accolades from all over the world and made Michael Richard who he is now was first aired in 1989.The show was made by Larry David and comic Jerry Seinfeld who were also his fellow cast members of the NBC’s Fridays TV show. Though it started off slowly in 1990 but later it becomes among typically the most popular TV series of the television history finish with its ninth season in the year 1998.In 1998 it ranked as # 1 in Nielsen Ratings .He was the neighbor of the show’s eponymous character and was always referred to by his last name until his first name was brought out in the sixth season of the awesome hit show .After the end of Seinfeld ,Richards began working on NBC’s new TV series The Michael Richards Show that was initially imagined as the comedy/mystery series with Richards as the investigator was retooled as the office based sitcom as the first Pilot of the show did not draw public .Owing to the inferior reviews and ratings below the expectation the show was cancelled after a few weeks. And has played a role of an insensitive man in So I Married an Axe Murderer. He played a function of radio station employee named Doug Beech in the picture Airheads. In Miami Vice ,Cheers and Night Court he made guest appearances. Richards gave voice for a character Bud Ditchwater in the animated picture Bee Movie which was produced by Jerry Seinfeld. Seinfeld played the part of the main character in that picture. In the seventh season of Curb Your Enthusiasm he appeared with other cast members of the TV series Seinfeld. He’s playing the role of Frank in Kirstie which was aired first time in 2013.In 2011 the actor’s graph came down.

Richards has won Primetime Emmy Awards three times for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series (Seinfeld) in 1993, 1994 and then in 1997.In 1995 and in 1996, he was nominated for Outstanding Supporter Actor in a Comedy Series (Seinfeld) in Primetime Emmy Awards. In 2005,Richards was nominated for Favorite Nosy Neighbor Award(Seinfeld) at The TV Land Awards.

Richard wed Cathleen Lyons,a family therapist. Their marriage lasted for about eighteen year’s .In 1993, they got separated lawfully. They have a daughter named Sophie. He announced retirement from stand up comedy in July 2007.He visited Angkor Wat in Cambodia with his fiance for spiritual purpose
