The news of celebrity Philip Seymour Hoffman’s departure of an apparent overdose sent shock waves through the industry. Just weeks prior to the Academy Award Ceremony in Hollywood one of his generation’s most famous actors passes away. Hoffman’s body was discovered in his West Village apartment around 11:30 am February 2nd. Just a year ago Hoffman declared he’d checked him self into substance abuse practice because he had started snorting heroin. The film depicts the rise of the porn business in the 1970’s and follows a young naive star Eddie Adams played by Mark Wahlberg. The film was nominated for three Academy Awards and won countless others giving attention to Hoffman.
