Edward W. Harbert III was born on June 15, 1955 in New York. While growing up, President dreamed of becoming part of the television industry. His broadcasting career began while he was still a pupil at Boston University. He worked in the college radio station, WTBU, along along with his friend, Howard Stern. He graduated magna cum laude with a diploma in Broadcasting and Film from the Boston University of Communications.
Mr. Harbert returned to New York and worked at ABC after graduation. In 1981, he relocated to la and spent 20 years at ABC, where he was a feature film coordinator and later the president of ABC Entertainment.
Ted Harbet was also a producer for two years at Dreamworks TV. In 1999, he was named president of NBC Studios, where he oversaw primetime, day time and late night programs. He was made president of E! Networks in 2004.
