Leonard Cohen net worth: Leonard Cohen is a Canadian singer-songwriter, musician, and writer who has a net worth of $20 million dollars. He went on to form a group known as the Buckskin Boys. He attended McGill University, and quickly made a name for himself as a poet, winning multiple literary awards. He printed his first book of poetry in the mid-50s, and after that relocated to New York to attend Columbia University. He chose to leave Columbia after annually, and returned to Canada. The book was a success, and catapulted him into greater acknowledgement. Though he had early success as a writer, it was hard to keep up that momentum. He returned to the United States to focus on developing a music career, and went to record an amazing number of albums and tracks, that have earned him inclusion in both American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Canadian Music Hall of Fame, too as four decades of devoted devotees.

Leonard Cohen produced in 1934 is a Canadian poet, novelist, musician, song writer and vocalist. His father passed away when he was nine years of age.

Cohen was involved with the student council in his school days and loved to study music and poetry. As a teen, he started learning guitar and formed his own group called “Buckskin Boys”. Cohen loved to hang out at Saint-Laurent Boulevard, where he and his buddies went for fun and eating. He was the President of McGill Debating Union and printed his first pair of poems in the magazine CIV/n. He graduated from the McGill University with a BA degree.

He was greatly influenced by the works of WB Yeats, Henry Miller and Walt Whitman. In 1956, his first book of poetry “Let us Compare Mythologies” was released. Cohen left New York and returned to Montreal, attempting his hands in several things in precisely the same time, nevertheless not losing out on his focus which was composing. Throughout the 1960s, Cohen preferred to keep a low profile, but continued to write poems and fiction short stories. Slowly, Cohen began releasing less number of books — the difference began growing. In one interview in 1998, he described his writing as “like a bear stumbling into a beehive or a honey cache: I’m stumbling right into it and getting stuck, plus it is tasty and it’s horrible and I’m in it and it’s not very graceful plus it’s really difficult also it is very painful and yet there is something inevitable about it.”

In 2011, he was granted the prestigious Prince of Asturias Award because of his contribution to literature.
