Born in Leipzig, Saxony, East Germany on January 4, 1963, the German musician grew up in the village of Wendisch-RambownearSchwerin in East Germany. Till attended a sports school in the Empor Rostock Sport Club in the age of eleven and attended a boarding school between 1977 and 1980. He used to be a swimmer but had to stop due to injury. Then he went to work as an apprentice carpenter, a gallery tech, a peat cutter and also a basket weaver.
Lindemann began his career as a drummer for First Arsch, which released an album calledSaddle Up and played one song,Lied von der unruhevollen Jugend, with a punk band called Feeling B, the previous band of Rammstein members Paul H.
